Disability Resources

Disability Resources supports equal access and reasonable accommodations for qualified Yavapai College students with disabilities. Services are provided at no charge and may support mobility needs, hearing or vision impairment, learning disabilities, and other documented disabilities.

Request accommodations

Determining reasonable accommodations is a collaborative process among students, Disability Resources staff, medical professionals, and instructors. Students should contact Disability Resources as soon as they are registered for classes.

If you believe you have an undocumented disability, contact Disability Resources to discuss available options.

Schedule an intake interview

Meet with Disability Resources staff to begin the accommodation process.

Gather documentation

Bring current paperwork that documents the nature and extent of the disability. This may include documentation from a physician, psychologist, psychiatrist, a recent IEP, or other relevant records.

Discuss strengths, needs, and services

During the interview, staff will discuss your needs, explain services, and review your rights and responsibilities.

Set up accommodations each semester

Students meet with Disability Resources each semester to set up accommodations and coordinate next steps with instructors.

Plan ahead

Depending on the time of year, it may take up to two weeks to get an appointment with Disability Resources and another two to four weeks to review documentation and arrange appropriate accommodations.
