Resident Onboarding Checklist

Now that you've completed your application and secured your spot, it's time to start your resident onboarding checklist!

Step 1: Register as a full-time student 

  • To complete an associate's degree in 2 years, you must average 15 credit hours each semester. 
  • Contact your academic advisor so they can help you register for the correct classes that you need in order to complete your YC degree or certificate.

You're not permitted to move into the residence halls until you have registered for a minimum of 12 credit hours

Step 2: Pay your YC account balance

  • You will receive an email notification from the Office of Residence Life when your room and meal charges have been added to your student account.
  • You can pay your account balance in full or establish a  YC payment plan
  • Login to your myYC account --> Select the My Account card, then select Payment Center

You're not permitted to move into the residence halls until you have paid your account balance.

Step 3: Complete Residence Hall Orientation and "Voices for Change" Training

  • After you have paid your account balance, you will receive an email invitation to complete your required:
    • Online Residence Hall Orientation
    • Get Inclusive "Voices of Change" Training
You are not permitted to move into the residence halls until you have completed ALL required steps.

Step 5: Schedule your Move-In Appointment

  • After you have completed steps 1 - 3, you will receive an invitation to schedule your move-in appointment!
