Updates at Sedona•Verde OLLI...

We are actively creating OLLI FREE Online Course Offerings for Spring Term to help us all stay engaged and connected. Stay Tuned -- Spring is still blooming!

How we've been moving forward...

During the past several days, the OLLI Leadership Council, in partnership with Yavapai College and the Osher National Resource Center (NRC), has taken the following steps:

  • Cancelled Spring Term 2020 face-to-face classes.
  • Tasked the Technology Committee, with support from Yavapai College's Office of Information Technology, with offering online programming for our OLLI members.
  • Initiated steps to offer Summer Term 2020 classes online.
  • Voted to offer a 10-week Fall Term 2020. This longer term is designed to offer more opportunities for our facilitators, who had already submitted face-to-face courses for the Spring and Summer Terms, to shift those learning groups and workshops to Fall Term 2020.

In the coming days, our OLLI Facilitators will be invited to give us their feedback concerning when and how (face to face/online/both) to offer courses.

Soon we will be sharing more details with you about free online learning opportunities. If you have ideas and suggestions, or simply want to join in the conversation about making OLLI programming accessible in the future, please email us at ollisv@yc.edu. This is the fastest way to reach an OLLI staff member.

Although Yavapai College is still offering for-credit classes online, the offices at our Verde Valley Campus and Sedona Center are closed until further notice. All of the staff are working remotely.

You can leave us a message at (928) 649-4275, and we will return your call.

Because older adults and people who have chronic medical conditions are at higher risk, please use caution and follow the CDC guidelines (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/specific-groups/high-risk-complications.html#who-is-higher-risk) recommending that older adults “stay at home as much as possible.”

Announcements of future OLLI events will be broadcast on our Facebook page as well as in our weekly email newsletter. We welcome your input and encourage you to reach out to us via email or phone calls.
