Volleyball

Prescott, Arizona — Yavapai College Women’s Volleyball hosted South Mountain Community College yesterday, winning 3-0 against the Cougars, blowing them out in all three sets 25-18, 25-13, and 25-15. 

The final set included play from Alice Kinsey, Atalia Garrison, Loraina Bonesteel, Samantha Daley, and Cassidy Jones. The final point was scored on a kill by Atalia Garrison. 

Mackenzie Strader emerged as the kill leader with eight, and McKenzie Wright had 17 assists. The Roughriders had 11 total service aces (two each from following players: Jada Adams, McKenzie Wright, Yuliana Apodaca, Mackenzie Strader, and Chloe Rivers). 

Strader had six digs, with two solo blocks from Keyara Haywood. Yesterday’s match demonstrated a complete team effort to secure the eighth win of the season. 

Yavapai College Women’s Volleyball is now 8-6 on the season. The next game is tomorrow, Oct. 2 against #17 Arizona Western at 7 p.m. in Walraven Gym. 

Attendance at Yavapai College home games for Women's Volleyball and Men's and Women's Soccer is free of charge, and all are welcome.
