Once the lessons have been purchased an email is sent to the program director. The email is then forwarded to the instructor of your choice. The instructor will then contact you to set up the lessons.

If you have not heard from the instructor in 3-5 days please call 928-776-2238.

AveryAvery Borghoff - Hey! My name is Avery Borghoff. I have been swimming competitively since I was 8 years old, and have been teaching lessons for a little over a year! Most of my lesson experience is with kids between 3-6 years old, but I have worked with kids ages 2-10. I adore children, and love seeing their excitement when they do something in the pool on their own for the first time! Available M/W/F's from 12:30 – 2:45 pm.  Only available for existing clients.

Fully booked and not accepting new students.

GiadaGiada Virgilio - Hi! My name is Giada Virgilio, I am a rising senior in high school. I am a Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructor and am CPR certified. I am a competitive swimmer, and have swam for Prescott Swim Team since 2017. I was titled Prescott Swim Team's Most Valuable Player in 2019. I have also held regional qualifying times in nine events from 2019 to present. I love teaching swim lessons, and have been teaching lessons for several years now. I am available on Saturdays during open swim hours. I only teach to those who have already gotten approval from me.

Not accepting new clients.

TylerHi my name is Tyler. I swam competitively in high school and college and have been teaching swimming in Prescott for almost three years. I am currently a swim coach for the Prescott Swim Team, and an Adjunct Faculty member for the HPER Department teaching Swim Fitness. My goal is to help kids have fun while swimming, but also have them focus on hard work and technique in lessons. I only teach kids who are advanced, competitive swimmers, and know the basic strokes. Please note: I am NOT taking any new families. Thank you!

MeghanMeghan Kloos - A little bit about me! I was born and raised in Prescott, and am currently home for the summer after finishing my junior year at NAU. I have been working as a swim instructor for over two years, and before that I was a competitive swimmer throughout high school. I love helping kids progress, and most importantly be safe in the water! I have worked with all levels, from first time in a pool to lap swimming and everything in between! I am so excited to be teaching this summer and hope to see you at the pool!

anwenHi! My name is Anwen Smith. I am currently a junior at Prescott High School. I have been in the water all my life, but started competitively swimming my freshman year. I have broken 4 individual high school records and been part of 2 more relay records. I have been to state championships several times and placed in the top 8 twice, placed 1st at regionals once, and placed 2nd at regionals 6 times. I was a mentor on my high school team and worked with a small group to improve their swimming. I hope to swim when I go to college. I am CPR certified through Prescott High School. I am new to teaching kids, but am excited to work with them and help them to learn and improve their swimming.

instructor-sue.jpgMy name is Sue Arriola. I am a senior life long swim instructor, lifeguard and scuba diver. My primary enjoyment comes from teaching swim lessons to children and adults. I enjoy teaching children of all ages (4 years+) and adults to swim and experience the benefits of being comfortable and safe in the water.

I swam competitively in high school and continued with the Masters swim program for a few decades. I have also swam open water in most lakes in Arizona, the La Jolla rough water swim and have even completed the Alcatraz challenge in California.

I am currently certified as a lifeguard, which includes First Aide and CPR/AED training. I have worked as a pharmacist for many years, but now hang out at the pool in my spare time. Please contact me if you would like private lessons and/or have any questions

instructor-jon.jpgHey there! My name is Jon Arriola.  I have been a swimmer since I was around 4, and I also competed for roughly 20 years of my life. I grew up as a Prescott local and have been here since 1992 as I still cannot get enough of this lovely town!

I am currently a student as well as a lifeguard here at YC. I love providing safe space and energy to encourage swimmers of all ages to feel safe and at home in the water. Outside of the pool you will catch me teaching Yoga at one of the local studios, Bend Hot Yoga.

Trail running and outdoor adventures are a deep passion of mine as well. Lynx Lake and Granite Basin are always calling my name to come jump in and get a good swim in! I will be accepting all ages and all levels for lessons.

Contact me if you have any questions.

Kevin Kevin is a YC alumni & local RN. He has many years of experience in aquatics ranging from swim instruction, lifeguard, swift water rescue, and guiding with a variety of boats. Kevin has facilitated both group and private lessons, ranging from beginners learning to be comfortable in the water, folks looking to improve their times, or individuals looking to expand their water safety for outdoor activities.

His favorite thing about teaching lessons is seeing people learn to love and enjoy the water!

Cami Hi my name is Cami. I live in Chino Valley on a little farm with my fiancé and our daughter, who will be one at the end of this summer. I have a radiologic technologist degree through Yavapai College. I grew up in between Michigan and Maine and have always been surrounded by water!

I've been teaching swim lessons around Prescott since 2018. I have taught all ages and abilities, but really enjoy beginners and especially young children. I hope to encourage a genuine love for being in the water while focusing on water safety with my students.
