FOR HOWARD MOODY
Longtime YCF Board member Howard Moody was hon-
ored for his outstanding service to YC, YCF and education
in Yavapai County. Howard completed nine years as a Board member and, according to YCF bylaws, must rotate off the Board. Joining Steve Walker to honor Howard were Tim Carter, Yavapai County Superintendent of Schools, and Jeremy Plumb, Superintendent of the Mountain Institute Joint Techni- cal Education District (JTED).
Tim praised Howard’s service during two terms on the Governing Board of the Humboldt Unified School District and his leadership in the campaign to establish the JTED. Jeremy thanked Howard for his tireless efforts to get the JTED started and to handle the myriad financial issues, in his capacity as Chief Financial Officer, that have arisen during its rapid enrollment growth.
During Howard’s tenure on the YCF Board, he served twice as Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee, and two terms as President, 2008-2010. His accomplishments included the refinement of the YCF budgeting process, development
of the most professional and productive volunteer board in Yavapai County and completion of the $2,200,000 capital campaign to build the Del E. Webb Family Enrichment Center.
“Howard is a consummate professional who sets the highest standards for himself and the organizations he works with,” Walker said. “He led the YCF Board by example and gave generously to our fundraising programs and auxiliaries. He actively participated in almost all board committees and offered freely his good ideas and, when appropriate, his concerns. He is an involved leader who prides himself on knowing as much about all aspects of the Foundation as the staff. Best of all, he has a great sense of humor. He knows how to work hard and have fun.”
