Teach

Facilitating is fulfilling and satisfying. People who never facilitated before can bloom in self-confidence with just a little support.

Facilitators gain a real appreciation for those of varying views, an expanded understanding of the subject matter, stimulated thinking and meaningful interaction. Besides that, it’s fun!

Is there a particular topic or craft you would enjoy sharing with mature, inquisitive, and dynamic adults? You don’t have to be a retired professor from a university. The main requirement is a passionate interest in something.

Class Roster: You will receive your preliminary class roster via email one week prior to the start of your class.

Attendees: Please verify that all participants in your class are on your roster. Learning Group participants may try out one session of a learning group at no charge to see if they like the class, but they must register if they want to continue the class. This is not true for a workshop, since it is usually only one session. If someone is in your class and is not on the roster, please send them to the OLLI office to register.

Classroom Layout: If you have moved any tables or chairs in your classroom, you are responsible for re-setting up the classroom in the standard and approve class layout before you leave.

Audiovisual Training: Contact ollisv@yc.edu for more information on audiovisual training.

Changing or canceling a class offering: If something happens and you need to make changes, please get in touch with the appropriate OLLI office. You will be responsible for notifying any students registered in your class of the cancellation or any changes.

Making requests of the OLLI Staff: The OLLI staff are all part time and job share. When communicating with us for rosters, copies or any other type of assistance, please send all requests to ollisv@yc.edu and whomever is available can assist you.

Copies: Please submit your requests for copies to ollisv@yc.edu one week ahead of time (for each class). See above Facilitator Letter for more specifics about requesting copies.
