“FBLA has truly transformed the way that I have gone about in the business world,” said Campbell Augustinovich, Yavapai College FBLA student president “It turned everything that I had learned in the classroom and out it into work. I had always thought FBLA was just another student organization, but it is not. It fosters growth and career success through the events we put on and the opportunities given. If it weren’t for FBLA, I probably would be at a different school learning something I wouldn't ever use.”

According to Yavapai College’s Deanna Baker, co-advisor for FBLA, Yavapai College, Embry-Riddle, and Arizona State University are the only active physical chapters in Arizona.

“There is also Arizona Direct, which is designed for students attending colleges that do not have an on-campus chapter. Yavapai College's FBLA chapter currently has 14 members. Eight members made it to the conference, and all of them placed," Baker said.

Future Business Leaders of America is the largest business Career and Technical Student Organization in the world. Each year, FBLA helps more than 230,000 members in middle school, high school, and college prepare for careers in business. FBLA inspires and prepares students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences.

“One thing I have seen is how FBLA empowers the students to discover their potential across all fields, not just business,” Baker said. “The organization has expanded beyond the normal business opportunities to now include Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Digital Design, opening the door for any student who is interested in gaining real world experiences, helping build their confidence, and applying what they’re learning beyond their classes.”

Yavapai College operates seven campuses and centers throughout Yavapai County and offers over 100 degrees and certificates, four baccalaureate degrees, student and community services, and cultural events and activities. To learn more about YC, visit www.yc.edu.
