The Respect Campaign

The Respect Campaign works to unite Yavapai College students, faculty, staff, and administration to actively work together within curricular and co-curricular venues to promote open dialogue, while addressing equality, cultural intelligence, multiculturalism, and social justice on both a local and national level. Awareness and respect are emphasized and modeled as core values necessary to work and live in democratic civil society.

Riders Read 

Yavapai College's "Riders Read" program is a college-wide common read, where the entire campus community reads and discusses the same book. The goals of this program are to spark dialog on issues of values and shared experiences among our students, faculty and staff; while modeling the kind of active reading and critical dialog expected in college-level academics.

Urban Bush Women galvanizes artists, activists, audiences and communities through performances, artist development, education and community engagement.

This is ""A Tale of Two" by Rena Butler" by Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.
Dance performance, Mary Heller choreographer. 2008 Northwest American College Dance Festival Association adjudicated. Re- staged onto auditioned Yavapai College dancers for the Arizona Dance Festival that Yavapai College's Performing Arts Department and Scottsdale Arts Center hosted, Oct. 2019. Heller did months of written and embodied research in upstate NY, birth of the Suffrage movement, and with the dancers in both research qualitative methodologies to inform the vocabulary in '08, as well as with the new dancers at YC. The dance speaks for itself in it's "allow ALL people to have equal access now", out of the history of our country.
