Technical education in a hands-on learning environment
Yavapai College offers state-of-the-art career and technical education programs for residents of Yavapai County. Located in a 108,000-square-foot building, the Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) opened in 2007 with programs that address local workforce needs by providing training for electricians, industrial plant technicians, auto repair, welding and many more.
Why CTEC is important to the community.
• CTEC programs provide accelerated pathways into the workplace and middle-wage jobs.
• Technical training allows many students to obtain middle– wage jobs while continuing school, helping them pay their educational costs while gaining work experience.
• By 2017, 40% of all job growth will be in middle- skilled jobs -- those that require some training, but not necessarily a bachelor’s degree.
• CTEC gives students an option for meaningful employment with 1- 2 years of training.
• CTEC students have been issued over 800 industry required licenses and certificates since 2007 (the electrical instrumentation program has a 100% job placement rate).
The need for CTEC scholarships
• CTEC currently has fewer scholarships available to well- deserving students than other College programs.
• Many CTEC students are returning students who may have lost their jobs and are retraining for a new field.

The Prescott
Antique Auto Club Committed to Student Success

With the generous support of the Prescott Antique Auto Club (PAAC), the Yavapai College Foundation is able to provide scholarship support to a deserving YC student enrolled at the Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC). PAAC scholarship funds donated to YCF come from the club’s annual car show every August
at Watson Lake Park in Prescott. Their scholarship support is directed toward Yavapai College students pursuing automotive-related certificates or degrees leading to a career in the local automotive repair industry.
